Es war einmal in Hamburg / Book cover / Direct commission

This book ('Once Upon a Time in Hamburg') is a collection of entertaining stories and songs connected with the city from the last 800 years. The cover idea started as a mash-up of a both a message and a ship in a bottle. The city landmarks of Hamburg are shown as a colourful microcosm encapsulated within a local stubby beer bottle. They form the backdrop for the tall ship Peking (newly restored and returned to her birthplace) as she sails by on the Elbe.
